Founder and Chairman

Mr. Thaung Tin is the founder and the chairman of Knowledge Management and Dedication (KMD) Co. Ltd which is one of the largest ICT companies in Myanmar offering ICT education, product distribution and systemintegrationservices.HeisalsoservingastheVicePresidentofUnionof Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI). Mr Thaung Tin served as the deputy minister for Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Myanmar from August 2012 to March 2016. During his tenure with the government, he initiated and implemented Myanmar telecom re- form plan that includes liberalization of telecom market, transformation of incumbent tele- com operator and setting up of independent regulatory organization.. The telecom liberal- ization process made mobile SIM penetration from less than 10% in 2012 to over 80% in 2016 He also actively involved in several social and professional organizations; lec- turer at University of Computer Studies (1984-1990), Secretary of Myan- mar Computer Federation (2000-2012), Vice President of Union of Myanmar Chambers of Commerce and Industry (2005-2012 and present), and Country repre- sentative for Asean Business Advisory Council (2005-2012). Currently he is a member of e-government steering committee led by the state councilor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. He holds a Master degree in Computer Science from University of Computer Studies, Yangon and Bachelor degree in Electronic & Communication Engineering from Rangoon Institute of Technology. He is an alumnus of Harvard Kennedy School Executive Education program.
